Eirglide Ramp in use - 4

EirGlide

EirGlide is designed for simplicity just drive on and reverse off. Simply ballasting the end modules, by adding water, creates a gentle curve, this curve submerging the end modules allows the Boat/RIB/Jet Ski to drive onto the EirGlide with no hard impact. The trapezoid shape is designed to guide the craft easily onto the pontoon.

System Applications

Applications for EirGlide Modular Pontoons are varied ranging from:

  • Drive-on-docks
  • Boat lift to store vessels out off water
  • Jet Ski storage
  • Emergency rescue work
  • Can be easily floated to new location
  • Compatible with all Airfloat Installations

Technical Specifications

Design

Both module and pin are individually manufactured by rotational moulding in one piece without welds or joins so that no weak points exist. The Trapezoid slipway is designed to take large or small craft including Jet Skis.

Moulded into the slipway are ridges which enhance the EirGlide durability. The module underside is conical to give increased stability and prevent modules lifting from the water. The lugs, designed for maximum strength.

Material

The floating module pontoon and connecting pin are manufactured from Linear Medium Molecular Density Polyethylene (MDPE) with narrow molecular weight distribution to give improved impact resistance.

AIRFLOAT MPS Floating Pontoons have been thoroughly tested for strength, impact resistance, and permeability, low and high temperature resistance. They are 100% recyclable, rot proof and resistant to fuel, oils, acids, hydrocarbons and other contaminants. The blocks are manufactured using UV inhibitors to protect them from degradation caused by ultra violet radiation.

Colour

The standard pontoon colour is green but AIRFLOAT MPS pontoons can be manufactured in a wide range of other colours with black a popular choice.

Dimensions

Basic pontoon module: 700mm x 700mm x 440mm high

Depth of slipway: 150mm

Draft: 50mm unloaded

Freeboard: 390mm (to centre of module) unloaded 15kgs per module

Weight of EirGlide Modules: 15kg per module

Single Tier: 360kg per m²

Freeboard of EirGlide Modules

To alter the level of flotation (for example, for smaller craft) modules can be ballasted by filling them with water.

What people say about our products?

We have been supporting Airfloat since 2007 and their business ethic have always been first class. We would not hesitate in recommending their services.

We use Airfloat System as a walkaway. It is always included for the movement of troops, when assessing any body of water to be crossed. It is considered as fit for purpose as a walkway when we have to move personnel over water, no matter how large the group.

The floating pontoon 60mts x 3mts from Airfloat is a huge success. It is used daily every day from April to October to facilitate people getting on and off fishing boats, pleasure boats and dinghys. The pontoon is quite sturdy and very safe.
