Floating pontoon barrier

Business brisk for Airfloat

Airfloat Ltd recently secured a significant sized order for their Modular Pontoon System (MPS) from the Duchy of Cornwall to install temporary landing jetties on Bryher, St Agnes, and St Martins, in the Isles of Scilly.  Patrick Connon, Managing Director of Airfloat Ltd, comments, “The size of the order meant that all our competitors tendered for the contract and so to win through against such stiff opposition was very gratifying.

“Another important order has been the award of a large contract from the Countryside Council of Wales with our pontoons giving access to the wetlands near Newport.

“We were also delighted by the response we had exhibiting at the first ever Mumbai Boat Show, held in India earlier in the year – interest was overwhelming and we expect that to convert to new business from India in the coming few months.

“The biggest development for Airfloat, however, is that we have now committed to starting production in the USA and with a manufacturing base there expect the North American market to become a major part of our future growth”.

Kent, England-based Airfloat Ltd still maintains its factory in Cork, Ireland, and Irish business is still a large part of the company’s turnover. Numerous county councils in Ireland have now installed Airfloat’s Modular Pontoon System. Recent Irish orders include rowing stages for the Ocean to City Race in Cork and Portora Royal School, in Enniskillen, for their Regatta.
