Floating pontoon barrier

UK and worldwide business wins for Airfloat

Airfloat Ltd report several new contracts in the last few months with both increased UK and export demand for their modular pontoon system.

Examples of contracts secured by Airfloat include a new 150-metre walkway across the marshlands in Newport for the public to gain access to the beach, awarded by Countryside Council for Wales; a floating jetty supplied to East Anglian Sea School; floating platforms for Hove & Adur Sea Cadet Unit; a platform supplied to Salford City Council for a recent Triathlon event; an order from the Environment Agency in King’s Lynn and a project for BAA that required Airfloat to construct and repair a foul water barrier at Heathrow Airport.

On the export side, Airfloat have just obtained a sizeable contract from Chevron for a floating bridge to be used in Nigeria.

Patrick Connon, Managing Director, comments, “We have certainly come a long way in a short time since acquiring the Irish Eirfloat business in 2003, expanding from what was a mainly Irish customer base to a European and now increasingly a worldwide focus, with contracts secured across the military, commercial and leisure marine sectors.

“We still retain the manufacturing facility in Ireland which has undergone significant expansion and we believe that a factor in our success is that we can oversee every aspect of production, delivery and installation and, as a privately owned company, we take great pride in providing exceptional quality of service”.
