Airfloat Ltd report several new contracts in the last few
months with both increased UK and export demand for their modular pontoon
system.
Examples of contracts secured by Airfloat include a new 150-metre walkway
across the marshlands in Newport for the public to gain access to the beach,
awarded by Countryside Council for Wales; a floating jetty supplied to East
Anglian Sea School; floating platforms for Hove & Adur Sea Cadet Unit; a
platform supplied to Salford City Council for a recent Triathlon event; an order
from the Environment Agency in King’s Lynn and a project for BAA that required
Airfloat to construct and repair a foul water barrier at Heathrow Airport.
On the export side, Airfloat have just obtained a sizeable contract from
Chevron for a floating bridge to be used in Nigeria.
Patrick Connon, Managing Director, comments, “We have certainly come a long
way in a short time since acquiring the Irish Eirfloat business in 2003,
expanding from what was a mainly Irish customer base to a European and now
increasingly a worldwide focus, with contracts secured across the military,
commercial and leisure marine sectors.
“We still retain the manufacturing facility in Ireland which has undergone
significant expansion and we believe that a factor in our success is that we can
oversee every aspect of production, delivery and installation and, as a
privately owned company, we take great pride in providing exceptional quality of
service”.
